Internship Program

The Internship Program

The Blue Futures Pathways (BFP) Internship Program is designed to support youth in Canada aged 18-35 as they learn about and explore careers in the Sustainable Blue Economy. The program offers youth access to four key resources:

  1. Learning materials focused on the Sustainable Blue Economy;
  2. Mentorship with industry, not-for-profit, and/or educational professionals;
  3. Free training workshops;
  4. Potential funding

The BFP Internship Program will help youth develop work-ready skills for careers in the ocean and fresh water sectors and prepare them to dive into hands-on internship opportunities.

The BFP Internship Program provides …

Learning Modules

On-demand, interactive, online learning resources that explore different aspects of the Sustainable Blue Economy, prompt you to think about issues around our ocean and freshwater systems, and examine the career pathways of diverse professionals. Topics include marine water, fresh water, wastewater, the cryosphere (frozen water), green shipping, and much more.

Mentorship

Connecting with peers and experts can accelerate our journey to success. That's why the BFP Internship Program helps bring together youth and professionals in industry, not-for-profit organizations, and educators working in the marine, fresh water, and wastewater sectors in Canada.

Training

This series of tailor-made training courses will ensure young people are ready for the workplace and stand out to prospective employers. Sessions include core skills such as resume-writing and interview skills, and also soft skills such as finding your voice, telling your story and the keys to an inclusive workplace.
